The Supply Chain Disruption Game simulates supply chain challenges under disruption risks. Players act as procurement managers and must decide whether and how much to source from an Overseas supplier (lower cost, larger capacity, but subject to disruptions) or a Local supplier (higher cost, limited capacity, but reliable). The objective is to minimize total sourcing costs, including setup, holding, backorder, and purchase costs.

The game provides students with hands-on learning experience managing the sourcing of a product from a supply chain susceptible to disruption risk. It helps to illustrate the concept of flexible or responsive capacity and provides an opportunity to discuss operational and managerial levers to make supply chains more resilient.
