Happy fall semester! We wish all instructors a fun and successful semester/quarter ahead! Summer has kept us at Fathomd super busy, and we are excited to announce that two new games are now available on our platform.

Asynchronous Beer Distribution Game

The same Beer Distribution Game can now be played asynchronously, which allows each group of up to four students to form a supply chain and play the game at a time of their own choice. This asynchronous functionality is created to provide better scheduling flexibility for instructors, e.g., to use the game in asynchronous teaching, or to assign the game as a homework practice rather than (or in addition to) playing it in-class.

Attendance Game

The new Attendance Game is designed to help instructors track student attendance to classes in a fun and engaging manner. Instructors can use the game to take attendance at any time during a class, and students “compete” for an attendance prize at the end of the semester based on different metrics (such as the highest attendance rate or the longest attendance streak) that are automatically calculated by the system.
